Applicants should contact the International Office of the university at which they wish to study in order to have their university entrance qualification checked. If the certificate from the country of origin is not recognised, you have to go to the German higher education institutions requesting a Feststellungsprüfung (assessment test).
With a visa for study purposes, you can study in Germany for 1 year. The visa must be renewed every year and is only issued if you have an admission from a university or a preparatory course.
